Sound	Description
Sounds to play via a sound card
Incoming ring	An incoming ring sound.
Synthetic ring	For off-hook Caller ID schemes, the sound to play back while emulating a 'ring back' signal.
On-hold music	On-hold music file to play back via a sound card
Sounds to play via a modem
Default greeting	Answering machine default greeting message.
Alternate greeting	Alternative greeting message. Some actions will make use of this greeting.
On-hold music	On-hold music file to play back via a modem. May differ from the sound card on-hold music playback file.

Note

To play sounds to a telephone line, record them in 16-bit mono PCM file with a sampling frequency equal to the Modem properties -> Voice Sample Rate and place the .WAV file to \Dev\ folder.
For example, for Rockwell compatible modem a sample rate of 7200 Hz must be used.
For ZyXEL modems the sample rate is usually 9600 Hz (except Comet models, which are built on Rockwell chips; these modems use a 7200 Hz sample rate); 3COM / U.S.Robotics, IS-101, PCI and Windows modems usually come with 8000 Hz sample rate.
Latest versions support any uncompressed 8- or 16-bit PCM waves. Consider recording the sounds with a higher sample rate.
